Fazenda Santa Ines is a large, 215ha farm that is located on the Mantiqueira Mountain Range in the ‘Sul de Minas’ region, about 25km from the Municipality of Carmo de Minas. This estate was acquired by the Sertao Group in 1979, who opted to completely overhaul the farm by replacing the majority of the established coffee trees growing there with new varieties. They hired experts to help improve quality and introduced new harvesting and processing techniques as well as farm technology. Since making these changes, the coffees from Santa Ines have stood out in regional and national contests: in 2005, a sample from Fazenda Santa Ines won first place in Cup of Excellence Brazil, with a world-record 95.85 score! The Sertao Group is also conscious of environmental preservation, and maintains a large area of native rainforest and natural water sources within the farm. Though producing mostly blend quality coffees, 2020 revealed some wonderful microlots appropriate to feature as single origin roasts. ONA is happy to be able to feature a Brazilian lot as an espresso for the first time in a number of years!

This is a wonderfully sweet and clean Brazilian Yellow Bourbon natural that makes for a classic yet sophisticated espresso. Red-berried fruits and nectarine sit atop a floral bed of chamomile and green tea notes.
